Improper tools or scraping can scratch automotive glass.

Rear-window defroster and antenna lines can be damaged during aggressive removal.
Remove hidden adhesive
Glue can remain around edges, beneath moldings, and inside door channels even after the visible film is gone.
Prepare for new film
Replacement tint requires properly cleaned glass so contamination is not trapped beneath the new installation.
If you remove the film yourself
- Removing the visible film does not guarantee that the adhesive is gone.
- Remaining glue must be cleaned completely before new film can be installed.
- Normal removal and preparation charges may still apply.
- Partially or improperly removed film can require additional labor and may cost more than the original removal estimate.
