Ceramic Coating Care & Maintenance Guide

Ceramic Coating Care & Maintenance Guide

Thank you for trusting us with your vehicle.
Your car has been protected with a professional XPEL ceramic coating designed to enhance gloss, repel water, and make cleaning easier.

To keep the coating performing at its best for years, proper maintenance is required.

🧼 Routine Washing (Every 2–4 Weeks)

Regular washing prevents contamination from bonding to the surface.

How to wash properly:

  • Use a pH-neutral automotive shampoo

  • Hand wash only (avoid automatic brush washes)

  • Use clean microfiber wash mitts

  • Rinse thoroughly

  • Dry with quality microfiber drying towels or touchless air

Avoid:
❌ Dish soap
❌ Degreasers
❌ Brush car washes
❌ Letting the vehicle air-dry

πŸ§ͺ Decontamination / De-Ironizing (Every 3–6 Months)

Over time, brake dust and iron particles embed into the coating and reduce water beading.

Use an iron remover / fallout remover to dissolve contamination.
βœ… Safe for paint, wheels, and exterior surfaces.

Steps:

  1. Wash the vehicle.

  2. Spray iron remover on paint & wheels.

  3. Allow it to react (usually turns purple).

  4. Rinse very well.

This helps restore slickness and hydrophobic performance.

✨ Ceramic Boost / Topper (Every 3–6 Months)

A ceramic booster rejuvenates gloss, slickness, and water behavior.

After washing and drying:

  • Spray lightly onto the panel or towel

  • Spread evenly

  • Buff off with a clean microfiber

Think of this as maintaining or refreshing the coating.

β˜€οΈ Good Habits That Make a Big Difference

  • Remove bird droppings, bugs, and tree sap as soon as possible

  • Wash more often in winter

  • Use fresh, clean towels to avoid scratches

  • The coating helps resist damage, but it is not scratch-proof

πŸ›‘ What Ceramic Coating Does NOT Do

Ceramic coating will NOT:

  • Stop rock chips

  • Prevent dents

  • Make the car immune to scratches

It makes maintenance easier and keeps the vehicle looking better, longer.

πŸ“… Professional Inspections

We recommend maintenance checks every 6–12 months.
We can deep clean the surface and apply a fresh booster to keep everything performing like new.
