Ceramic Coating Care & Maintenance Guide
Your XPEL ceramic coating is designed to enhance gloss, repel water, and make routine cleaning easier. Consistent, gentle maintenance helps it perform at its best.
Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, avoid automatic brush washes, remove contamination promptly, and use a compatible booster as needed.
Wash every two to four weeks
- Use a pH-neutral automotive shampoo.
- Hand wash with clean microfiber wash mitts.
- Avoid automatic brush washes.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with clean microfiber towels or touchless air.
- Do not use dish soap, strong degreasers, or allow the vehicle to air-dry.
Decontaminate every three to six months
Brake dust and iron particles can reduce slickness and water behavior. After washing, use an automotive iron or fallout remover according to its instructions, allow it to react, and rinse the vehicle thoroughly.
Apply a ceramic booster every three to six months
After washing and drying, apply a compatible ceramic booster lightly, spread it evenly, and buff it with a clean microfiber towel. A booster helps refresh gloss, slickness, and water behavior.
Build good habits
- Remove bird droppings, bugs, and tree sap promptly.
- Wash more often during Colorado winters.
- Use clean towels and wash media to reduce scratching.
- Schedule a professional inspection every 6–12 months.
